Frequently Asked Questions
Hypoallergenic jewellery is made from materials that are less likely to cause allergic reactions.
Every part of Ear Sense earrings is made from hypoallergenic materials, the post, clutch and front.
One of the most common allergies experienced by jewellery wearers is nickel allergy.
Nickel free jewellery is made from metals with zero or negligible nickel content. Trace elements may exist due to alloy compositions or manufacturing processes, but they remain within safe thresholds.
Ear Sense earrings meet Nickel release safety thresholds set by Australasian, U.S. and European regulations. At these levels nickel is not released into the bloodstream at levels that can trigger an allergic reaction.
Avoid contact with water, chemicals, perfumes, soap, makeup and lotions as these can cause the plating layer to strip away.
Put your earrings on last when getting ready for the day.
Remove earrings first before showering or swimming. Earrings become dull or tarnish when exposed to chemicals, salt or chlorinated water.
Remove earrings before sleeping or exercising to minimise contact with naturally occurring oils in the skin and sweat.
Store earrings properly in a clean, dark, dry place such as a jewellery box or fabric pouch to avoid unnecessary contact to air and moisture.
Change your earrings frequently.
This green tint is oxidisation caused by a reaction between the base metal of the earrings and skin acids, sweat and chemicals e.g. beauty products. It can cause skin tinting and irritation.
To avoid this happening, avoid exposing earrings to chemicals in the environment such as cleaning and beauty products.
